LinkedIn Has Been Bought By Microsoft On a $26.2 Billion Deal

LinkedIn, which is the world's top professional social platform where users showcase their skills has been bought by microsoft.

Microsoft just announced a $26.2 billion deal to acquire LinkedIn. According to the official statement, Jeff Weiner will still maintain his office as the CEO of LinkedIn and will report to Microsoft CEO, Satya Nadella.



After much touting by CEO Jeff Weiner that linkedin is an independent entity, why was it sold?

Well, according to recode, here are some possible reasons linkedin was acquired at a little north of $26 billion by Microsoft.
1. LinkedIn’s stock was struggling.
2. LinkedIn’s ad business was
slowing down.
3. LinkedIn’s growth was a concern.

It is reported that the deal has been stylistically approved by both parties, although the acquisition still needs approval by LinkedIn shareholders and regulators in the company.
