According to WABetaInfo, this interesting feature will be added directly within the chat window, and will cause WhatsApp to do away with launching the YouTube app for playback.

The feature enables playback to be launched in a picture-in-picture window, while also offering functionalities like pinch-to-zoom, full screen view mode, and hide ongoing playback to continue reading messages in chat.

The playback will stop immediately you switch to chat with another person. However, the feature is currently available only on iOS, supporting iPhone 6 device and above. Android users might also be able to enjoy WhatsApp's new in-app YouTube playback soon, If testing goes fine.
