The smartphone industry is becoming more competitive everyday, and only the strong can survive the frequent storms which are bound to be met. Taiwan OEM, HTC, is reportedly losing grounds in the smartphone business, and I hope they won't end up like Blackberry.
The brand's woes has been going on for a while now, following the undeniable failure of HTC 10. According to the latest report, HTC experienced their worst month in the past 13 years after a 51.5% decline in revenue from the previous month, and a 54.3% decline from last August.
HTC, who recently confirmed Android 8 update to some of its smartphones is currently financially incapacitated. But word on the street says that Google is about to acquire HTC smartphone business, thus, presenting two options on the table: either becoming a strategic partner, or outright buying the entire smartphone unit.
