Google Weblite Hits Africa For Faster and More Affordable Web Search

In recent times, Google has shifted its focus in Africa and Nigeria in particular, since the CEO's visit to Nigeria, where he launched Youtube Go and other products. Now, the American tech giants has launched Google WebLite, a service that brings faster and more affordable internet access to the web across Africa.

“Whether you’re commuting to work, searching for the latest sports news, or for the phone number of a nearby restaurant, quick access to information from the web is crucial. In Africa, we see that nearly 40% of people with Android devices may be experiencing a slow or delayed connection while they’re on the web due to usage of low RAM devices,” Google said.

Google weblite feature will help users get the information they’re looking for quicker, easier and more affordably. When you search on Google via its mobile App, Chrome or any Android browser with a device on low RAM, web pages that you access from the Google’s search results page will be optimized to load faster and use less data.
