Online shopping in Nigeria is extending from fashion products like clothes, shoes, to electronic gadgets, phones, PC; food, and cars. Now, the trending entry that can now be ordered right from the comfort of your home is Dangote Cements, a well-used construction material.
This is achieved courtesy of a partnership with popular cement maker—Dangote Cement PLC, and Jumia Nigeria, the number one online retail website in Nigeria. Though, they aren't the first to start this, as rivals Konga has been into cement sales and delivery for quite some time.
Anyways, the deal will enable Nigerians order at least 300 bags and above of the 50kg Dangote Cement from Jumia NG, which is sold at N2500 per bag with free delivery. According to Jumia spokesperson:
“For now, the pilot scheme is live in Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt, but we can extend to other cities depending on the level of demand and performance of the new deal”.
“We are starting with Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) of 300, 600 and 900. We may increase depending on demand surge as time goes on,” He said.
The benefits of this startup cannot be overemphasized, as in the open market a bag of cement carries the same N2500 price tag, and you'll pay separate fee for delivery. But Jumia is offering free delivery straight to your site.
