The release of the final version of Android 8.0 Oreo for Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ is drawing nigh. The Korean OEM has been beta-testing the mobile operating system for over two months now - since the early days of November till date.

But Samsung recently announced that new entries to the public beta program will be closed today (January 5th). So, this is perhaps the last chance for you to join if you're a Galaxy S8/S8+ owner, to test all the new features the update will bring before they're being released to the public.
The company further stated that the beta testing will officially end on the 15th of January. This hints at the final version of Android 8.0 Oreo update being released to the public soon, and as we've heard in previous reports this could even happen by the end of January.
Last year's Android 7 Nougat update went through 5 beta stages before publicly rolling out. This year's Android 8.0 Oreo update actually follows the same schedule. Another proof that the update will be released sooner rather than later points to earlier reports of few Samsung Galaxy S8 models receiving certification over at the Wi-Fi Alliance, a required step before the update rolls out.
Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+ users in the U.S will have to wait a bit longer for the final Android Oreo update, as US-specific models were not included in the certification list.
