Facebook Messenger Kids app now Available on Android

Facebook is back with the Android version of its Messenger Kid app for children between the ages of 6–12 years old. The app was earlier released for iOS and Amazon Fire Tab, it packs lesser features such as lacks in-app purchases and no Hide options so that parents can monitor and control their kids activities online.

Other features like video calling and regular messaging are present in Facebook Messenger Kids. It can be used by kids to connect with close friends and family from their tablet or smartphone. However, before kids begin chatting with a contact, the parent need to approve it to avoid unsolicited messages.

While the regular Facebook Messenger requires a phone number or need a Facebook account, Messenger Kids does not. Kids can video call and message using Wi-Fi, hence phone number is not required. They also have an option to report inappropriate content in the app or block contact.

Right now, Facebook Messenger Kids app is available for download via iOS App Store for iPad, iPod touch and iPhone; Google Play for Android devices; and in Amazon Appstore for Fire tablets.

Can this work for Nigeria pre-teens?
