Google has further stepped up its support for low-end smartphones with the recent launch of Assistant Go, a super-light version of the popular voice-controlled smart assistant which is now available in Play Store, coming just one week after similar optimized Gboard Go app was unveiled.
Google Assistant Go is designed to work smoothly on Android smartphones with less RAM and low hardware configuration. The app packs most of the features in the full-fledged version, but using fewer resources, thus it is referred to “lite.” It allows you to make quick phone calls while on the move, send text messages, play music, request weather information and get trivia answers.
However, features such as reminders, controls for smart home devices, Actions on Google, and Device Actions are not available on Google Assistant for Android Go. Also, this lite version supports only English language.
