Trying to Delete a Quoted Message on WhatsApp

Since the inception of the recall feature on WhatsApp, a lot of people have been able to delete already-sent messages maybe to the wrong contact/group or having typos. Users can only delete messages for everyone before seven minutes after sending, however, in recent times, we've proved that this feature is unreliable as there are tricks you can use to read deleted messages.

Lately, some users have complained of not being able to delete quoted messages on WhatsApp. Well, it has been confirmed that you can't delete such messages, as quoted messages in group and private chats continues to show in quotes even after they have been cleared.

If you send a message or media file to a group or individual chat, you'll be able to successfully delete it within seven minutes and the message will disappear. However, if that message gets quoted within these seven minutes, then the original message will disappear while the quoted text continues to show in the recipient's quote. See screenshot below.

WhatsApp failed to state how the feature works in cases of quotes in their FAQ. So, once a message gets quoted it can be used as a big evidence.

In similar news, the recently launched WhatsApp Payment platform in India has been joined and supported by four banks to make money transactions more convenient.
