The company recently announced it's newly formed partnership with Google to launch phones that'll run Android Oreo (Go edition) which consists of low-end handsets using 512MB and 1GB RAM.

Itel announced in Barcelona, Spain at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 trade fair, its plan to launch smartphones on the Android™ Oreo™ Go operating system later this year; thus, standing as one of the first global mobile phone brands to feature the new optimised OS, alongside HMD Global with Nokia 1, and many other brands.
Android Oreo Go is the lighter version of the Android Oreo operating system built to deliver better user experience, as it collects features of the former, and optimises them to work on a lower-end device. Phones running Android Oreo (Go edition) will come with new apps such as YouTube Go, Gboard Go, Maps Go, Assistant Go, etc.; which are specially enhanced to work smoothly in poor network conditions and limited storage.
Well, this is not surprising as iTel is a brand with entry-level product line targeting Africa, South East Asia and South Asia markets. 75% of smartphones produced by this company comes with 1GB RAM, so this partnership marks one of the firm’s main initiatives of 2018, with a series of additional product announcement to be made throughout the year.
