Razer Phone is one of the best smartphone out there for gaming. It was launched in November last year running Android 7.1.1 Nougat, and in less than 6 months, the high-end handset has received Android 8.1 Oreo in its first major update. The company actually promised this new OS update to all Razer Phone units late last month, and here, we've gotten it already.
Razer announced yesterday that this latest Android 8.1 Oreo has started rolled out to Razer Phones globally. However, the Californian-based OEM further stated that the incremental roll-out will take about 10 days to hit all Razer Phone devices around the world, so you have to patiently wait for the OTA update.
As for the changelog and added features, Razer didn't list any official changelog during the annoucement. But here are the known features that comes with Android 8.1 Oreo:

- Smart text selection
- Better security
- Notification enhancements
The update may also accompany the April security patch released by Google for more security. Like always, before you upgrade, make sure:
- Your device is not rooted, otherwise it will get bricked.
- You back up your current firmware in case the need to downgrade your device arise if the update contains bugs.
- Your battery is charged, at least, up to 95%.
- You have enough storage space and WiFi connectivity.
