Meizu 15, Meizu 15 Pro and Meizu 15 Lite Launched as Anniversary Special

Early this month, we saw a leaked poster which hinted the coming of the Meizu 15 lineup, and now it's here. The Chinese manufacturer has unveiled the Meizu 15 Pro, Meizu 15 and the Meizu 15 Lite smartphones, named to mark and celebrate the company's 15th anniversary. The Pro version is the muscle of all three with better specs, while the standard Meizu 15 and Meizu 15 Lite share the same screen size and RAM.

Meizu 15 Pro

The Meizu 15 Pro (pictured above) comes with a 5.95-inch screen with 2K OLED display, sporting the world's thinnest bezels in the smartphone industry right now, measuring 1.175 mm, with plenty of AI capabilities offerings. The phone is powered by an Octa-core Exynos 8895 chipset which is built on the 10nm manufacturing process, coupled with Mali-G71 MP20 GPU. In terms of memory, 6GB of RAM is available plus two variants of 64GB/128GB of native storage.

For image duties, Meizu 15 Pro features a dual rear camera setup of 12MP+20MP with OIS and EIS. The main camera has an aperture of f/1.8, and the secondary sensor has a telephoto lens. For selfies, there is a 20MP front-facing camera. Furthermore, the phone uses a 3500mAh battery bundled with a 24W charger for mCharge 4.0, and it runs Meizu's Flyme 7 Android skin straight from the box.

As for the price and availability, this model costs 2999 Chinese Yuan, which is about $475 or ₦171,000, shipping in Black and Gold color options. In addition, Meizu 15 Pro has a zippy fingerprint scanner.

On the other hand, the Meizu 15 sports a smaller 5.46" display with OLED panel and an 1080p resolution. Under the hood here is Snapdragon 660 mobile platform, equipped with an octa-core CPU and the Adreno 512 GPU. The same 64GB/128GB inbuilt storage variants are still present, but with a stripped down 4GB RAM this time.

In terms of photography, the Meizu 15 share the same camera specs with the 15 Pro model, with one exception; there is no EIS, only OIS. Available in White, Black, Blue, and Gold colors, the phone's price starts at 2500 Chinese Yuan, equivalent to $397 and ₦140,000.

The Meizu 15 and Meizu 15 Pro will launch in China on April 29th before rolling out to other select global markets like the UAE, Singapore, Hong Kong, Ukraine and Spain. Inside the box is included a 24W mCharge charger.

The Meizu 15 Lite won't be released to the Chinese Market, as it was even announced separately from the other two models. The device has the same 5.46-inch screen size, but with an LCD display panel. Powered by an Octa-core Snapdragon 626 chipset and Adreno 506 GPU, coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB onboard storage.

The camera specs includes a 12MP shooter on back featuring an aperture of f/1.9, and like the other handsets in the series, there is a 20MP front-facing sensor for selfies and video chat. To keep the lights on, Meizu 15 Lite comes with a 3000mAh battery paired with an 18W mCharge compatible charger which acompanies the phone on purchase.

It's worth noting that neither the Meizu 15 Pro, Meizu 15, nor Meizu 15 Lite has a notch, while all three phones in this series are pre-installed with the company's Flyme 7 Android skin.
