WhatsApp Introduces new Lock Recording Feature

As WhatsApp is adding new features, they are also making improvements on the on the old ones. Last month, the instant messaging giant introduced a new spam filter to stop the circulation of spam messages on its platform. And we saw a new improvements to the Change Number feature few days ago, which now allows you to notify your contacts about your new phone number.

How WhatsApp Lock Recording Works

Now, WhatsApp has released Record Lock feature on WhatsApp beta version 2.18.102, which stands as an enhancement to the existing recording function. Before this update, one had to press and hold the microphone icon to record an audio before sending, but with the locked recording feature, you can record while navigating through your chats history once your audio is locked.

Ho to use the Feature

To access this feature, tap the “microphone” icon in the WhatsApp chat and in a blink of an eye, a new UI will be displayed on your screen, showing a locked microphone button. Simply slide it up with your finger to enable the lock recording. Once enabled, you won't need to hold down the microphone button before recording your voice message.



More improvement will be added to this user interface to enable users navigate in chat without holding that odious microphone button. Hopefully, in a future date, an update containing this lock recording and the improved Change Number features will be rolled out to the standard WhatsApp Android, iOS and windows users globally.

Other WhatsApp Features to come

Other upcoming features in line to be introduced are Voice message preview to listen to your audio messages before sending it, and Speaker pack size which will allow you to read the size of a sticker size before sending it.
