New Update for OnePlus 5/5T With new Features and May Security Patch

A new update is now available for the OnePlus 5 and 5T, which is coming just few days after the OnePlus 3/3T received one. This latest software update size is very huge, but it doesn't reflect in the changelog as not too many new features and improvements were announced.

This update for the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T weighs in at 1.6GB because it is a full ROM update, and it also moves the smartphones skin to OxygenOS 5.1.2. One of the features in highlight is the newly added gesture navigation that allows OnePlus 5/5T users to double-tap to lock the screen.

Thanks to this update, the Gallery app now features Places, a map view of photos by location, as well as “Recently Added” collection. In addition, the update also adds May security patch and fixes a some bugs listed below:
  • Fixed auto-rotation stability issue;
  • Fixed Wi-Fi connecting issue;
  • Fixed microphone not functioning issue for AKG earphones.

The update has started rolling out, but may take a little time before it reaches your OnePlus 5/5T smartphones since is an OTA (over the air) update.
