The Tecno Spark series was introduced with two smartphones – Tecno K7 and Tecno K9 under it in August last year. Now, it seems work has started on an upgraded model of these smartphones, coming in form of Tecno Spark 2. According to rumours, this device is set to launch next month, packing a number of new features including a facial ID unlock function.

Spec-wise, the unannounced Tecno Spark 2 is expected to sport a large 6-inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio. For image duties, the handset will likely feature a copacetic rear camera of 13-megapixel sensor with Auto Focus and triple LED flash. While the front facing shooter carries an 8MP sensor with dual flash for selfies and video chat. To keep the lights on, a 3500mAh battery has been lined, but there is no 4G/LTE support.
Under the hood, the upcoming Tecno Spark 2 may be powered with 1.3GHz Quad-Core MT6580WP processor, coupled with two memory variants of 1GB RAM + 16GB of inbuilt storage and 2GB RAM + 16GB native storage space. The phone will run Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box based on HiOS 3.3. However, the 1GB RAM model will support Android Oreo Go Edition, while the 2GB RAM variant will run the full Oreo OS. Both variants will have support for a 32GB MicroSD card.
