It's no more news that Xiaomi will be unveiling its new Mi Band 3 later today. But before that happens, we have a handful of promotional posters which reveals the full design and specs of the Chinesse company's latest smartwatch. The image above shows that the display of the Xiaomi Mi Band 3 appears to be bigger than the previous Mi Band 2, and that's one of major differentiating specification between both devices. The 2016’s Mi Band 2 sports a 0.42-inch OLED display, whereas the new Mi Band 3 looks set to sport a much larger 0.78-inch OLED panel. Additionally, Xiaomi has adopted a new design for this third-generation wrist band by placing the display on top of the band with glass now curving round on each side towards the rubber. Meanwhile, the rest of the wearable remains unchanged, with the rubber band retaining its exact same design.
Just like the second-generation Mi Band 2, the upcoming Mi Band 3 will be capable of counting steps and calories. It will also sport features to monitor heart rate and will be water and dust resistant. The band will likely support alarms and weather notifications, and will also notify owners of incoming calls and recent text messages.
Xiaomi Mi Band 3 is expected to go on sale starting from June 5, and this will be a plus to the success of the previous Mi Band 2 which allowed Xiaomi to capture 18% of the global wearable market in Q1 2018. As for the price, the promotional posters in suggesta 169 Yuan, or just over $26. This device will launch today alongside Xiaomi’s newest flagship devices, the Mi 8 and Mi 8 SE.
