Just few months after the Meizu 15 lineup was introduced (in April precisely), the Chinese company is now reportedly, already working on the next generation Meizu 16 series with a number of new hands-on images showing design of the alleged phone.
If the images (above & below) appears to be true, then it seems Meizu has decided to follow the recent bezel-less design trend by introducing very thin bezels on the top and bottom. Also, the company looks set to–yet again–avoid placing a display notch by offering a more traditional 18:9 display with rounded corners. It appears the phone will also feature an in-display fingerprint scanner, while the rear of the smartphone is expected to have a glass build.
The Meizu 16 will likely sport a 5.6-inch display, while the Meizu 16 Pro will have a larger 6.1-inch panel. For image duties, the regular model will feature a dual camera setup, while three cameras will be included on the Meizu 16 Plus.
As for the hardware specifications, a leaked spec sheet reveals Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 processor will power both the Meizu 16 and 16 Pro. The former will come with 6GB of RAM and the choice of either 64GB or 128GB of internal storage, whereas Meizu 16 Pro will ship with 6GB of RAM plus 128GB internal storage, and another variant with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage to be expected.
Meizu hasn't stepped up to make any official confirmation, but previous information has claimed that the phone could be released as early as August. The rumored pricing for the 64GB Meizu 16 variant is expected to be around $430, while the 128GB model will cost $515. On the other hand, the Meizu 16 Pro will set consumers back $580, where the model with 8GB RAM will carry a price tag of $625.
