VLC Multimedia Player gets Massive Update and Bug Fixes

Back in January, VLC makers–VideoLAN added an experimental Chromecast feature for its mobile app, and now six months later, it is finally available for iPhone and iPad users by the developers.

This new update adds support for Chromecast, and it also fixes a lot of bug. The audio playback has been improved and you also now have an option to watch 360 videos by just moving your device. How cool is that?

Full ChangeLog (Fixes)

  • Fixes a bug which causes files on your phone not to be displayed in VLC;
  • Fixed a regression preventing the download of certain media files via http;
  • Fixed a regression where downloaded files might disappear;
  • Fixed a regression where users couldn't log into Google Drive.

In addition, the VLC app is also made more stable in this new update, When decoding H.264/H.265, there will be an improved performance. This latest update is available for download on the Apple App Store for iPhone users.
