Chinese OEM, Huawei, has outrivaled Apple to become the second largest smartphone company in the whole world. The brand recorded consistent high sales in June and July, with August sales looking much stronger. This was disclosed in the latest report by counterpoint’s Market Pulse for July 2017.
Apple, an American smartphone maker, which was the dethroned second spot holder, could bounce back very soon, as the brand will soon drive in the next phase of iPhones into the market. But you never can underestimate the power of Chinese brand.
Samsung retained the first spot, while Apple took the trophy for the best selling models for the month of July. iPhone 7 and 7 Plus held onto the first two spots, with Oppo's R11 and A57 coming in as third and fourth.
Other devices like Galaxy S8, Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X and Samsung Galaxy S8+ also made the list. It will be nice if Infinix, Tecno or iTel grew to be the largest smartphone brand in the world. Maybe that will be in year 2030 😥
