As disclosed by industry sources, HTC will launch a fewer numbers of smartphones next year, as its R&D and marketing efforts will be channeled on just one flagship and limited mid-range Android smartphones. A downgraded version of the HTC U11+ is expected to be released at January's CES (Consumers Electronics Show) event 2018. This will certainly improve the company's presence in the mid-range segment of the industry.
Also on HTC's 2018 roadmap is a new flagship handsets, which will likely be dubbed HTC U12. Specifications of this high-end device includes a Quad HD display, dual-camera setup, and the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor that is more faster and 30% more energy efficient than the previous chips.
The launch date of HTC U12 is still unclear, however, it could fall late February or the month after. Most smartphone companies would be throwing out their flagships by that time.
