Mass Downgrade, as Apple Mistakenly Released old iOS Versions

Apple always signs an iOS build first before it can be installed on your iPhone. And it is no news that the American OEM doesn't sign older operating system versions when a one is out. However, something ridiculous happened few days ago, as some iPhone users where able to downgrade their devices to older iOS versions.

apple signs old iOS versions

Apple was unintentionally signing various old versions of iOS, and iPhone users who were tired of the bug-ridden iOS 11 seized the opportunity to move to other versions. A lot of owners settled for iOS 10, while others went for iOS 9, and some even went as far back as iOS 6.1.3 according to reports from Reddit.

This shows a lot of IPhone users are irritated by iOS 11 mainly because of the purposeful CPU performance throttle for aging batteries which was brought to iPhone 6, 6s and SE last year with iOS 10.2, and then to iPhone 7 through iOS 11.2.

Though, Apple's erroneous signing of old iOS versions lasted for just a small window of time, there was mass downgrade by thousands of users who were online at that time. However, the window has been closed and iOS 11 still leads.
