New Update hits Samsung Galaxy A5 and A7 (2017)

Ahead of the release of the latest Galaxy A series models which is slated for this month, Samsung has rolled out a new update to the previous Galaxy A5 and A7 (2017) smartphones which brings along new features especially to the phones' camera.

Samsung Galaxy A7 2017

First on the list is the Selfie focus feature that works with the front camera. It is a new mode which if enabled, allows users to take a picture without having to tap the screen to focus on a subject. It's supposed to add some sort of bokeh effect and make the background blur while the subject of the picture is right on focus. This new mode fails in low-light conditions, but rather works well in good lighting.

Also added are enhancements to the image processing software and a new color correction option for the skin tone courtesy of the update. The new feature is available when you take pictures with the front camera and can be accessed from the beauty effects icon.

You may be thinking that features were only added to the selfie camera, but the update also provided some AR (augmented reality) stickers and stamps to the primary camera. The monthly security patch (for December) accompanied the update too. Meanwhile, in some countries, the November patch was the one included in the update.
