It's high time we bade goodbye to Windows XP and Windows Vista. Microsoft has already discontinued supports for these old operating systems, Mozilla did the same few months ago. Now, Apple will release a security update on the 25th of May which will prevent PCs running Microsoft Windows XP, Vista, and those on Apple TV 1st generation units from using the iTunes Store.

According to Apple, “If you have a Windows XP or Vista PC, your computer is no longer supported by Microsoft and you’re not able to use the latest version of iTunes.” However, previous versions of iTunes which lacks support from Apple can still be accessed by users of these OS.

With this, you won’t be able to make new purchases from the iTunes Store nor redownload previous purchases on their computer. Windows 7 or later will be required after May 25 to enable you make purchases with the latest version of iTunes.
