Samsung Galaxy Note 9 may not Slay in Terms of Performance

While the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 (pictured below) was a huge success last year, we are still expecting the Korean company to unveil its upgrade which will be the Galaxy Note 9. According to latest rumors, this unannounced smartphone will be codenamed Crown, coming slightly bigger and better than the recently-launched Galaxy S9 and S9+.

The upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 9 was also spotted in a benchmark with model number SM-N960U, where it is tipped to be powered by the latest Qualcomm's octa-core Snapdragon 845 chipset, coupled with 6GB of RAM as the North American version. While other markets will get an Exynos 9810 CPU under the hood.

Further-more, the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 will most certainly run Android 8.1 Oreo straight from the box. Though, the handset doesn't much slay in terms of processor performance, as its multi-core and single-core benchmark score of 8806 and 2190 respectively is very well comparable to that of the SD845-powered Galaxy S9+ which boasts of 8420 in multi-core tests and 2390 in single-core.

The Galaxy Note 9 is expected to launch in August, and there could be a lot of software improvements before then. It is also reported that the phone may launch as the company's first to an in-display fingerprint sensor, with a larger rumored 4000mAh battery, while also packing multiple camera enhancements and improvements to the S Pen stylus.
