Android P Homescreen Leaked: Only Four Notification Icons Shows

It may take users a week or two to get used to the Android P interface, starting from the gesture navigation to the rearranged status bar which is clearly different from what we see on other smartphones running Andriod Oreo and below. With this upcoming OS, instead of looking on the top right side to check the time on your phone, it has now been moved to the left.

In addition, Android P is set to show only four notification icons in the status bar in order to accommodate the notch, which we learnt will carry native support in this new Android build. Meanwhile, the same number of icons (4) also shows in un-notched smartphones too. But if you receive more than four notifications, a string of dot will be shown after the fourth icon, where each dot represents another notification received. However, to see the app which sent it, you will have to pull down the notifications shade.

Android P will be released later this year, and it is unclear whether the limit of four notification icons on un-notched models is being done for the developer preview only, so that developers can get an idea about what the status bar will look like on notched handsets.

Other changes includes a new home button at the bottom of the screen, and like I stated earlier, the multitask button is gone and replaced by a gesture, while the back button only appears where it can be used (it's pratically useless in the homescreen, that's why it isn't there).
