Huawei's Y series consists of mid-range and entry-level smartphones which the Chinese company has started rolling out. We've already seen specs of the Y3 (2018) that was launched few days ago. And now, Huawei Y5 Prime (2018) has been unveiled, but in a more silent and unglamorous style, unlike phones in the P or Mate series.

The Y5 Prime (2018) recently appeared on Huawei's official website, which suggests the smartphone might be released for purchase soon. In terms of specifications, the device fits into the mid-range bracket with nothing extra-ordinary to write home about, but the budget price justifies it.



Under the hood, there is a quad-core processor which clocks at a speed of 1.5GHz, coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB expandable storage. Huawei Y5 Prime (2018) offers dual-SIM support, but some markets will only get the single-SIM model. For image duties, the handset features a 13-megapixel rear camera, and a secondary 5-megapixel front-facing shooter for selfies. A future software update has been set to add a Face Unlock function to the Y5 Prime (2018).
