Top 5 Mobile Subscription Countries in the World, is Nigeria Among?

Where we stand in terms of mobile subscription in the world is very impressive, and I'm not surprised because you see us 24/7 on almost all social network platforms and websites in the world. Nigeria is currently ranked has the country with the fourth (4th) most mobile subscription in the world, and we achieved this despite the poor data plans and services our telcos are providing.

This report was published on June 15, by Ericsson—a multinational networking and Telecommunications company—in its June 2018 global mobility report for the first quarter of the year. According to the report, 5.3 billion subscribers were recorded globally carrying out 7.9 billion subscriptions. There was 4% consecutive growth in the number of mobile subscriptions each year, reaching 7.9 billion in Q1 of 2018.

Top 5 Countries with Highest Mobile Subscriptions :

  1. China (+53 million)
  2. India (+16 million)
  3. Indonesia (+6 million)
  4. Nigeria (+3 million)
  5. Bangladesh (+2 million)
