According to renders and reports, the most noticeable change is that the new device is smaller than the 2017's edition, while the tab is still as thick, the height has been shortened. This tablet also does not that the physical home button and the Samsung logo at the front.

The build is likewise similar, but this model does not have a LED flash paired with the camera. On the inside, it is confirmed that the CPU is Snapdragon 430 and that it has 2GB of RAM. It is also expected to run on Android 8.1 Oreo.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2018) will likely be unveiled alongside the Galaxy Note 9 and the Galaxy watch based on the fact that August 9 is clearly written on the home screen of the leaked images.
