How to Use Action Mode on iPhone 14 Camera for Smoother Videos

Use Action Mode on iPhone 14: The recently released Apple iPhone 14 models include a new Action mode when recording video. We tell you everything you need to know about this feature in order to start using it.

What is Action mode?

The new “Action” mode has been developed by Apple to help you record smooth video if you’re filming on the move, with shaky, even when the video is being filmed in the middle of the action.

Use Action Mode on iPhone 14 Camera

To achieve this effect, Apple says, it uses a full camera sensor with more scanning and advanced correction for camera shifts.

This feature is built into the standard iPhone Camera app, and when enabled, the video you capture looks almost as if you were using a gimbal to do it. Action mode can record up to 2.8K at 60fps and supports Dolby Vision HDR for very good video quality.

Which iPhone models support Action Mode?

You don’t have to have a Pro model to use this feature, as all iPhone 14 models support Action mode out of the box, including the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

How to use Action mode when shooting video

  • Launch the Camera app on your iPhone.
  • Swipe through camera modes to turn on Video mode.
  • Press the Action mode button (running man icon) above the viewfinder to turn the icon yellow.
  • When you’re ready to start recording, click the red “Record ” button.
  • That’s it, this will turn on the “Action” mode in the “Camera” app, you will get a great video without having to wear a stabilizer.
