A new update for Whatsapp for iOS includes biometric authentication security. In January 2019, this feature was first reported, and it is now live.
Should I say that this feature is very similar to the Android fingerprint security offered by Whatsapp? However, it is quite comparable. Your Chats conversations will be protected from unauthorized access thanks to this feature.
Users can now unlock the WhatsApp application by requiring Face ID or Touch ID authentication, as stated in the iOS app's patch notes.
Your Whatsapp application will remain completely secure once you enable the Face or Touch ID feature, just like the Android version. Because of this, no one else will be able to access your Chats.
Before you can access your Whatsapp account, you will need to verify your identity each time you open the app. This also applies when you open the app from an external picker, the app drawer, or the notification bar. You won't be able to use it to lock specific conversations because it will protect the entire app.
HOW DO I ACTIVATE WHATSAPP FACE OR TOUCH ID ON MY IOS?
To access this option, go to Account > Privacy in the Whatsapp settings, then turn on the Screen Lock feature there.
If you enable this feature, you will have an additional layer of protection against authorized access to your Whatsapp conversations even when your phone is unlocked.
Since it was first made available to iOS beta users last week, this feature is now available to all iOS users.
