Only 7.5% Android Users Are On Marshmallow OS | Google Stats Reveals

Is it that many people are not yet aware of the android 6.0 Marshmallow OS or is it that it is not yet available on most devices? Android 6.0 has been around for some times now but
the latest Android version is still battling to gain more followers like its predecessors. Android 6.0 Marshmallow is reportedly running on only 7.5 percent of active Android phones at the moment.
7.5% android users are on marshmallow

The top list is dominated by
Android Lollipop (launched
2014) at 35.6 percent, android
KitKat (launched 2013) at 32.5
percent, and android Jelly Bean operating system (launched
2012) at 20.1 percent.

Meanwhile, 2011's Ice Cream
Sandwich android version still
hangs on to a sorry 2 percent
while the immortal Android
Gingerbread which is version
2.3 accounts for 2.2 percent of
Android smartphones.

Studying the Google's OS distribution numbers is absolutely hilarious, but somehow google and its hardware partners might be responsible for this. This is
because majority of smartphones sold in the year 2013 will never get Android Marshmallow Update.

Also there is no much
difference between android
Marshmallow and android
Lollipop unlike the difference
between Gingerbread and Ice
Cream Sandwich android versions which recorded huge
upgrade.

To get more people to use
android marshmallow, they
should provide updates for
more devices before android 7 starts rolling out later this year.

    @Omotayo ,
But if you don't upgrade to marshmallow, will you be able to upgrade to android 7 (a.k.a android N)?
