Google Assistant Music Recognition Feature Hits All Android Devices

Google's music recognition helps identify songs you are playing. This feature was exclusively available to the Pixel 2 devices before. But now, Google has cut off the limit, as it is being released to all Android devices.

Google's music recognition

The music recognition feature plays a similar role like Shazam app, although the later is faster and better.

How it Works

When playing a song on your Android phone, simply long press the home button to launch your Google assistant, then, say this —
“What is playing right now”

Once Google recognizes your voice, a result like the screenshot below should display:

google music result

And in a couple of seconds, get the song that is playing.

Though, you might get “I can’t identify songs yet” response sometimes, just keep trying.

Personally, I don't see Google's music recognition as any threat to Shazam. Do you?
