HMD to Launch Nokia 1 in March With Android Oreo Go

Android Go is a lightweight version of the Android operating system unveiled in the month of May by tech giant—Google. It is designed specifically for low-end smartphones, emerging markets and places with poor network conditions and limited mobile data.

I'm pleased to inform you that the makers of Nokia phones—HMD Global, has shown support for this initiative. The finish company is set to launch its next entry-level smartphone, dubbed 'Nokia 1' which be part of the Android Go program.

Nokia 1 comes with low-end specs, as it sport a HD (720p) display, packs 1GB RAM and 8GB expandable storage. The device will run a light version of Android Oreo, and will be available for purchase in emerging markets first.

The phone is expected to be released by March 2018 in various markets including the FIFA World Cup host country—Russia. Nokia 1 will be priced around €80. Huawei, and some other smartphone brands also have work in progress for the launch of a similar budget smartphone next year. Though, details on that are still sketchy.
