Shortcut to Add a Website to Your Dashboard (macOS)

Do you want to open your favorite websites faster? When you save a link to a webpage to the desktop of your Windows PC or Mac, you can open websites without having to type in long URLs or browse through bookmarks. We'll show you how to add an icon for a website shortcut to your desktop in the shortest amount of time.

  1. Launch Safari. You can easily keep track of your important content by adding snippets of websites to your Dashboard. This will need to be set up using Safari.
  2. Go to the website you want to add to your Dashboard by clicking on it. You will be able to add just a portion of the website to the whole page, but it won't scroll.
  3. Select "Open in Dashboard" from the File menu. Your cursor will transform into a box that reveals the website as the website dims.
  4. On the website, click where you want the box to be. Your dashboard will display the contents of the box. Choose a location for the box where you are confident it will always display the content you are looking for.
  5. To resize the box, drag its corners. Within the confines of the window, you can make the box any size you want.
  6. To add the selection to the Dashboard, click the "Add" button. Your new website snapshot will appear when you reach the Dashboard screen. To reposition it on the Dashboard screen, you can click and drag.
  7. To view the snapshot, open the Dashboard. The Launchpad in your Dock can be used to launch the Dashboard.
  8. To open the links in the picture, click on them. When you click on a link, Safari will open right away. For instance, in the event that you took a snapshot of the forum's main page, opening any thread links in Safari will open that thread.
