You can now Pre-order apps on Apple's App Store

What took Apple so long to launch this feature, as many other platforms has been using it for a long time. Well, it's better late than never. So, I'm pleased to inform you that Apple has added a pre-order feature to the App Store which will enable users book down for an app that has not yet been released. The function is available for both paid and free pre-orders on all versions of the App Store.

Now, app developers will be able to list their products up to 90 days ahead of their planned release, and when the pre-ordered app goes official, it will automatically be downloaded on a user's device. In terms of software, preordering is mostly being associated with game releases, so this is another challenge for developers to use this approach with other app types.

According to PhoneArena, “This is a rather nifty feature, as it can help with the promotion of an app while also giving the creators an idea of how popular their service can potentially become.” Pre-order incentives—which is a good marketing tactics—is another thing to expect when this feature completely rolls out.
