YouTube Rewind 2017: Top Trending Videos for This Year Listed

Year 2017 is gradually coming to an end, and popular video sharing website—YouTube has disclosed the trending and viral videos, events, memes, and music that captured the attention of users this year, in its yearly Rewind list.



According to YouTube Rewind, comedy skits by Mark Angel dominated the most viewed top ten(10) videos, coming in 3rd and 8th position. Others includes political interests on the return of President Buhari from his medical trip to UK, and Biafra agitations. Please note that video from major music labels were not included.

Moving onto the most watched music videos in Nigeria, 'If' and 'Fall' by Davido, DJ Khaled’s ‘Wild Thoughts’ featuring Rihanna and his ‘I'm the One’ hit topped the list. Also in the list are songs like ‘Come closer’ by WizKid featuring Drake, ‘Wo’ by Olamide, and ‘Nobody Ugly’ by defunct P-Square. This shows Nigerians love for more indigenous, and less foreign music.

The most watched video in the whole world is a Thai love song titled 'As Long As We Will Become The Dust’ by Oyster Masked. It has 181,958,411 views, thus, posing as the biggest video of year 2017.

'Despacito,' a Latino music by Luis Fonsi featuring Daddy Yankee is the most watched music video globally. Hot on their heels is Ed Sheeran, who eclipsed both the music and non music video category.
