Google Pay Unveiled — Combination of Android Pay and Google Wallet

Android Pay and Google Wallet are payment services both owned by tech giant—Google. Since the former is more acceptable for in-app purchases and other online payments, while the latter offers a fast and free way to send money to friends and family. Google has decided to merge the two platforms together into one service called Google Pay.

This is a commendable move from Google and it's even long overdue. According to the company: “With Google Pay, it'll be easier for you to use the payment information saved to your Google Account, so you can speed through checkout with peace of mind. Over the coming weeks, you'll see Google Pay online, in-store, and across Google products, as well as when you're paying friends.”

Now, both Android Pay and Google Wallet will share the new Google Pay logo and branding, and that's the major change that will show wherever the aforementioned payment systems are used. I.e the Android Pay and Google Wallet logo won't be shown anymore when making payments. Instead, you'll see the Google Pay Logo as the new universal branding.

It is worth mentioning that couple of companies: Airbnb, Dice, Fandango, HungryHouse, Instacart etc, are already using the Google Pay service. In a future date, the payment platform will be available for Tez users in India.
