Google Assistant to hit 38 new Countries, with 17 new Languages

Google is shifting support for its popular voice-controlled smart assistant software, dubbed Assistant to 38 new countries this year as reportedly announced at the Digital News Initiative Summit that took place in Amsterdam. This will bring the total number of countries that support Google Assistant to an incredible 52.

Apart from Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States; Google Assistant will be available in are Russia, Netherlands, Sweden, Italy, Saudi Arabia, etc. The virtual digital software which currently speaks only English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, and Portuguese will also be offered in 17 new languages, including: Russian, Arabic, Dutch and Indian.

When Google Assistant will be introduced in these new countries, or when it will start supporting the new languages is currently in the dark. The tech giant allegedly revealed a slide at the DNI Summit that showed a map of its expansion plans.

A journalist who attended the summit posted a tweet, which included a picture of the slide (at the top of this story). Countries in blue currently have Google Assistant, while those in white will get it before the end of the year.

In a similar news, Google Maps for iOS has gotten quick access to transit and traffic info in the latest update.
