Chinese number one smartphone maker—Xiaomi announced a new device dubbed "Redmi Note 5 Pro" last week, and the first ever flash sales took place yesterday which saw the company hit a new milestone.
According to Xiaomi, over 300,000 units of Note 5 pro sold out in less than three minutes, and a lot of fans were left frustrated because the flash sale took only 10 seconds despite the facts that some orders were cancelled. This is not the first time the company's sale is off the chart, as sometimes last year, Xiaomi announced that over a million phones was sold in just 48 hours during an event in India.
Xiaomi India wasn't ashamed to call this first flash sale of the Redmi Note 5 “the biggest sale in the history of smartphones.” An angry fan responded saying “stop fooling us”, then explaining the site crashed “within a second” and criticizing availability.
In terms of memory, Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro comes in two variants: 4GB RAM + 64GB of storage and 6GB of RAM + 64GB inbuilt storage; where the former costs $215, and the latter priced at $261. The phone ships in four different colors options of Champagne Gold, Rose Gold, Light Blue and Black.
