Android 8.0 Oreo Update hits Samsung Galaxy Note 8

Android Oreo has already been rolled out to unlocked Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ phones in the US, few days after the company made an announcement of the incoming update for the aforementioned smartphones, including the Galaxy Note 8. But the latter is yet to receive it.

However, Android Oreo update is now available for Samsung Galaxy Note 8 in some other countries, following multiple reports and screenshots we received, confirming that the South Korean company has already started rolling out this latest OS to the handset.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 users with model number SM-950FD can now update their devices. Meanwhile, other models, except the SM-N950U/U1 launched in the US, should start getting Android 8.0 Oreo as well. This update which bumps the phone's UI to Samsung Experience 9.0 comes with added features and improvements besides Android 8.0 Oreo, as reflected in its changelog.

You should look out for enhancements to security features like biometrics (face, fingerprints, and irises), as well as improvements to Quick Panel, Home Screen, Samsung Keyboard, and system performance. Weighing in at about 1.5GB, the update also includes the latest March security patch released by Google.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Owners in the United States may get the Android 8.0 Oreo update in the coming days.
