Samsung is aiming to quickly push this Android Oreo on all Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ models before the launch of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S9 and Samsung Galaxy S9+ which is slated for February 25th during the Samsung Unpacked event in Barcelona. These 2018 flagships will run Samsung Experience 9.0 UI based on Android Oreo straight from the box.

Thanks to this Android Oreo update, users can now enjoy picture-in-picture feature, which allows you to play a video on the screen while using another app in the background. There's also Adaptive icons that gives the same app a different icon shape on various devices. The Settings menu is getting streamlined, and notification dots will appear on the icons of apps that have a notification that you have yet to tend to.

Before installing the Android 8.0 Oreo update on your Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+, make sure your phone is fully charged and you're connected to a Wi-Fi network.
