Early January, we saw the first render of HTC U12, later on, the upcoming flagship poped up during a 5G event held by a Taiwanese carrier on its home turf, which hinted that it may be launched powered by Qualcomm X20 LTE modem that supports up to 1.2 Gbps download speeds, amongst other rumoured specifications.

The HTC U12 will sport a larger 6-inch Super LCD display with Quad HD resolution and an aspect ratio of 18:9. In terms of photography, the flagship device will feature a dual-camera setup of 12MP+16MP at the back, and a 8-megapixel front-facing sensor for selfie. Under the hood will be Snapdragon 845 processor, coupled with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage which can further be expanded via MicroSD.
Other specs includes: dual SIM support, IP68 certification, a copacetic 3,420 mAh battery and 5G. HTC U12 will run Android 8.0 Oreo along with Sense 10, HTC Face Unlock and Edge Sense 2.0 straight from the box. The phone is expected to be available for purchase by April, with a price tag of about $880 which may differ by region.
In terms of design, the smartphone has a glass coated body with metal frame. Another source claims the Taiwan-based company is set to introduce a new matte white finish for the U12. Furthermore, it will feature curved glass on the back and front and a rear mounted fingerprint scanner.
