Moto C2 and C2 Plus Leaked to Feature an Oval-shaped Fingerprint Scanner

Just few weeks after Motorola launched the Moto E5 and G6 lineup, the Lenovo-owned brand is now working on two new smartphones called the Moto C2 and Moto C2 Plus. These upcoming phones stand as upgrade to Moto C and C Plus which the company first launched last year, and we have new renders here in this post revealing their full design.



Looking at the images, you can see that this Moto C2 and C2 Plus closely resembles last year’s series – there's only a few noticeable design change. This second-generation of the lineup will carry the same old 16:9 display with thick bezels, speaking of which on top will accommodate an in-ear speaker alongside a selfie camera and an LED flash.

Moving down, the bottom bezel for the regular Moto C2 will carry the company's logo branding, while for the Moto C2 Plus, an oval-shaped fingerprint scanner will be present, thus, the Moto branding is then placed above the display instead. In addition, it's important to know that Motorola has removed the capacitive buttons seen on 2017’s Moto C lineup, using on-screen navigation now.





At the back, both smartphones share similar designs, consisting of a plastic back with a large, circular camera module which contains the camera sensor and what appears to be a dual-tone LED flash. The Motorola batwing logo can be seen underneath the module on the same rear panel, while a volume rocker and power button are placed on the right side. Additionally, both smartphones uses 3.5mm headphone jack.



In conclusion, the unannounced Moto C2 and Moto C2 Plus's specifications are still in the dark, but we expect them to launch before the end of June and then be released for purchase by July, considering the fact that the 2017 Moto C lineup was revealed in May.
