We've already been assured of the imminent arrival of the BlackBerry KEY2 which is slated for launch by June 7. However, it appears that TCL Communication is working on yet another BlackBerry-branded smartphone which—according to Geekbench listing—stands as a striped down version of the BB KEY2 with slightly more budget offering.
The yet-to-be-announced device has model number BBG100-1 and comes with a 1.8GHz Octa-core Snapdragon 450 processor, coupled with 4GB of RAM. No wonder it scores a single-core result of 698 and a multi-core score of 3656. The phone will run Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box so users get to enjoy picture-in-picture, autofill and other amazing features that accompanies the latest OS.
We don't know what this handset will be called upon launch, but it mysteriously carries a similar model number to the upcoming BlackBerry KEY2 (BBF100-1). Amd this suggests that the phone will be cheaper variant of the regular KEY 2, thus, it could be named “BlackBerry KEY2 Lite.”
It's less than a month before the BBG100-1 tagged device will be unveiled. Kindly stayed tuned for more details in terms of specifications and what it'll be called.
