In the past few months of this year, HMD Global has launched five smartphones already, which are the Nokia 1, Nokia 6 (2018) (otherwise called Nokia 6.1 in the US), the Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia 8110 Banana phone, and Nokia 8 Sirocco which stands as the flagship. The Finnish company has also confirmed the coming of three more, which includes Nokia 5, 3, and 2, and it appears the Nokia 5 (2018) could be the first to launch.

As for the specs, the device should come with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 435 under the hood, paired with 2GB or 3GB RAM variants and 16GB/32GB of internal storage options. Just like most new Nokia handsets, the Nokia 5 (2018) is expected to join Google’s Android One program which will make it eligible to receive timely updates while likely running Android 8.1 Oreo on-board.
A fan inquired about the launch of this upcoming smartphone on Twitter, and HMD Global’s Chief Product Officer Juho Sarvikas was there to reply saying “stay tuned,” thus, hinting at an imminent arrival. So there was no specific release date given, but it may go on sale in June (next month), considering last year’s model had a similar release date. The Nokia 5 (2018) may be announced before then towards the end of May.
As for the price, the Nokia 5 (2018) may cost about €200 or $240 if it follows the same price range as last year’s model. In addition, it may launch with the Nokia 2 and 3 2018 low-end phones to complement it.
