Smartisan R1 Launched as the First Smartphone With 1TB of Storage

I told you the days of microSD card is coming to an end. A Chinese manufacturer has launched a new smartphone called “Smartisan R1” which comes with a massive 1TB internal storage, standing as the largest storage phone is the world. This is a record which many popular brands will find very difficult to meet – not even in the next few years to come.



Smartisan R1 comes with a beautiful design at 84% screen-to-body ratio, with moderate size bezels around it. It features a grade 7 aluminum body and is covered with 3D glass, where the fingerprint scanner is embedded in the logo on the back. This flagship phone sports a large 6.17-inch pressure sensitive display at 2242 x 1080 pixels resolution, with 18.7:9 aspect ratio, the trendy notch display desgin on top and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for prrotection against screen cracks and scratches.

In terms of performance, Smartisan R1 is powered by a 2.8GHz Snapdragon 845 processor with adreno 630 to take care of the graphics processing. The device comes in 4 different memory variants:

1. 1.6GB RAM + 64GB storage
2. 2.6GB RAM + 128GB storage
3. 3.8GB, RAM + 128GB storage
4. 4.8GB RAM + 1TB storage.

For image duties, the Smartisan R1 features a dual rear camera setup of 12MP Sony IMX363 primary sensor + 20MP Sony IMX350 secondary lens equipped with LED flash. There is a 24MP front-facing shooter for selfies and video chat with a f/2.0 aperture ArcSoft ray algorithm and AI real-time beauty mode.

To keep the lights on, this dual SIM (nano) smartphone uses a 3600mAh battery capacity with Quick Charge 4+ technology, Power Delivery 3.0 and 10W wireless charging. Other specifications includes: Global LTE band support, Bluetooth 5.0, dual-band Wi-Fi, NFC+eSE, USB-C port and Display Port 1.4. However, the Smartisan R1 doesn't have an audio jack.



As for the availability and price, you can buy the phone now on China's online retailer on JD.com. Here is how much each variant costs respectively:

• 6GB RAM + 64GB = $549
• 6GB RAM + 128GB =$627
• 8GB RAM + 128GB = $705
• 8GB RAM + 1TB = $1388
