Tecno Spark 2 sports a large 6-inch IPS LCD screen at 1440 x 720 (HD+) pixels resolution. One of the major highlights of this handset is its trending FullView display which bumps the aspect ratio to 18:9 with very tiny bezels wrapping around it as the screen stretches all the way to the sides.

As for the design, Tecno Spark 2 looks absolutely stunning and gorgeous in its polycarbonate body. The FullView display and curved antenna lines at the top corner makes the phone appear more slim and sleek, housing the rear camera at the top left corner with the LED flash underneath. A fingerprint scanner is also present on the back, while Face unlock feature is available using the front cam. The device measures 7.5mm in thickness and will ship in Gold and Black colours.

For image duties, this handset is a perfect buy for photo lovers as it features an impressive 8-megapixel front camera with dual flash, screen flash and f/2.0 aperture which delivers quality selfies even in a dark environment.

One the rear, Tecno Spark 2 packs a 13MP shooter which comes with a lot of improved features according to the company. Underneath the camera is a ring TRI-LED flash for crystal clear pictures, while other features includes: Portrait Mode and Mix Flash 2.0.

This second generation Spark device is powered by a Quad-core MediaTek MT6580WP chipset built on the 28nm process technology and clocks at a speed of 1.3GHz. The graphics processor in use is the 416MHz ARM Mali-400 MP2 GPU which is very well copacetic.

In terms of multitasking, Tecno Spark 2 comes with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage which can further be expanded via microSD to 128GB. But coming to the rescue is Android Oreo Go which it will run straight from the box, and TECNO’s latest HiOS V3.3 which provides smooth experience for phones with less memory. The Spark 2 is actually the second Tecno phone to runs Google Android Oreo Go edition.

Network and Battery Life

Connectivity options includes: Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, USB OTG, FM, 3G. While sensors on the phone are Proximity sensor, Accelerometer and Ambient light sensor. Tecno Spark 2 is a dual-SIM (GSM and GSM) handset with two Nano SIM support. Meanwhile, there is no 4G/LTE network support.

To keep the lights on, TECNO Spark 2 uses a non-removable Li-Ion 3500mAh battery which is tipped to last a full day with the highly optimized Android Oreo Go edition.

Tecno Spark 2 will be made available in Nigeria and many other African countries in the coming weeks, with its price starting from $89 to $119 (equivalent to N30,000 – N40,000), thus rivaling similar budget phones from other brands like the Nokia 2, iTel A32F and so on.
