Tutorial On How to Play a Video in a Zoom Meeting

Join a Zoom meeting and then open the video you want to share in a different app or browser tab before playing it in the meeting. In the Zoom meeting, select your video from the list by clicking the Share Screen option at the bottom. For participants to hear the video, select "Optimize Screen Sharing for Video Clip" and check the box next to "Share computer sound" for the best viewing experience. To start playing the video in your meeting when you are ready, click the blue Share button. When you are ready to stop sharing, you can click the Stop Share button at the top of Zoom.

• You can share your screen in a Zoom meeting to play a video.
• Make sure Zoom has access to your computer's sound when sharing your screen.
• To get the most out of your screen sharing, you can improve it.

1. Create or join a Zoom meeting. Refer to How to Join a Zoom Meeting on a PC or Mac for more information on how to join a meeting.
2. Open the video in a new browser window or application. Double-clicking a video file to open it in the computer's default video player (such as Quicktime or Windows Media Player) is one way to share a video you downloaded. If the video starts playing automatically, click the pause button. You don't have to start playing the video yet.
3. In your Zoom meeting, click Share Screen. At the bottom of the window, there is a green button.
4. Make sure the box labeled "Optimize Screen Sharing for Video Clip" is checked. Your audience will be able to hear the video sound if you check the box next to "Share computer sound" as well when you click this box.
5. Select the application or window that contains your video. You will be able to see all of the screens that you can share, including your Zoom screen and any tabs and windows that you are currently using in a web browser, such as YouTube. Based on the small preview image, you can tell which one has your video.
6. Select "Share." The Zoom meeting participants will see what you've selected once you share the selected screen.

• For instance, if you chose a YouTube page in the previous step, the Zoom meeting participants will be able to view it in your web browser. To view the YouTube video in full screen, click the full-screen icon in the lower right corner.
• Return to the video if you paused it earlier and click Play to start it.
• Click the Stop Share button at the top of your screen whenever you want to stop sharing.
