How To Change the Hotspot Name on Your iPhone

What's the name of your hotspot again? The names that come with the hotspots by default can be hard to remember, boring, or easy to mistake for another hotspot. Fortunately, you can change the name on either your Android or iPhone to make it easier to find! You will learn how to modify the hotspot name and password on your Android and iPhone in this TechPad article.
  1. Open Options. On a background of light grey, tap the app icon that looks like a pair of gears.
  2. Click General. Most of the time, it's the first option in the menu, next to a gear icon.
  3. Press About. This will be displayed in the "General" settings section at the top of the menu.
  4. Click Name. It's possible that "iPhone" or "[Your Name]'s iPhone" will serve as the default.
  5. Enter the new name after erasing the current text. Tap the x button and then use the keyboard to enter a new name to delete what is already there.
  • Tap DONE on your keyboard when you are finished.
  • This will alter the name of both the hotspot and your iPhone. To modify the password for your hotspot, go to Settings > Cellular > Personal Hotspot > Wi-Fi Password and enter the new password.
