Caterpillar is a company which is well-known for producing tractors, bulldozers, excavators and interestingly, smartphones. The American OEM will be launching a new mid-range phone in the United States, dubbed 'CAT S31' with a price tag of $330.
CAT S31 is a ruggedly built handset that sports a 4.7-inch HD (720p) display. It can survive for 35mins if submerged in water, up to 1.2 meters courtesy of its IP68 certification; and there's an added MIL-SPEC 810G rating, which should keep the phone working if dropped on concrete from up to 1.8 meters.
In terms of performance, CAT S31 comes with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal memory. The device is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor, and it runs Android Nougat out of the box. For image duties, CAT used an 8-megapixel rear camera, and the phone is fueled by a 4,000mAh battery capacity.
Other specifications includes: dual-SIM support, 4G LTE, VoLTE, and VoWiFi. CAT S31 features average specs, and its $330 price tag is quite high, but it's better to get a phone that can stand the test of time and man, instead of some expensive glass back. Hit local major retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, The Home Depot, B&H, and Grainger in the US to purchase yours.
